Use to make mulled, winter type drinks such as mulled cider or wine. Add alongside cinnamon for an alternative kick.
Liquorice has a sweet but slightly salty flavour. It is quite similar to aniseed and fennel in taste. It is used in a wide array of cuisines from deliciously spicy curries to lip smacking desserts and drinks. Left to infuse in hot water it is supprising the amount of sugar that the root produces. This infusion can be made into wine or added to ginger beer.
