Updated 24th of November 2021

Orders to England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland are being delivered by DPD in most cases within 24hrs. DPD will make one attempt to deliver to the designated address, if this is not possible they will leave a card and take the parcel to a local Pick Up Point. However as we now slowly approach the Christmas period they will get busier and with the shortage of drivers we do expect their to be some delays over the coming months.

Orders to the EU, more information on this can be found here of countries we are now shipping to.

We will keep updating this post with any changes as the information reaches us.

Order process at present:-

  1. Orders are being taken as per normal at this time, we are working to a 12 hour order processing time with most orders leaving us for next day delivery if ordered before 12pm
  2. DPD will text / email on the morning of your delivery, usually before 11am, giving a 1 hour time slot for delivery
  3. If no-one is able to accept the parcel at the address they will leave a card and then take the parcel to one of their local Pick Up Points. We would recommend that you order to a location when and where the parcel can be accepted as not all Pick Up Points will accept large or heavy parcels due to space limitations.

DPD Deliveries

In mainland UK we are using DPD as our delivering partner. DPD will send a TEXT / EMAIL on the morning of your delivery, this is usually by 11am.

Split Deliveries

At this time due to the volume of orders and parcels that the courier network is handling it is possible that orders which are more than one box can arrive at different times. To check if your order is more than one package you find on your DPD label if it is 1 of 1, or 1 of 2, or 1 of 3 etc printed on the label. If you have only received part of your delivery it is common for the remainder to arrive the next day, so don’t panic if this happens.

Saturday Deliveries and Timed Next Day Delivery

This service is currently suspended due to the increased demand on the courier network, so we had to remove this option from the website, we will bring it back as soon as they reinstate these services.

Change to order address

If a mistake has been made on your order address please contact us ASAP, as long as the order has not left us we can make any changes. If the order has been collected by the courier we will need to recall it and rearrange. This may lead to further delivery charges and a delay.

Royal Mail Delivery Option

If your order is under 600g customers are able to choose RM small package 1st class delivery. At present we are seeing delivery times of just a couple of days, however, in some circumstances it has been up to 13 days.

You can choose to collect your order from our Swindon warehouse. Once your order is ready we will call you to arrange collection, please read for more details on our safe collection policy.

Visiting Us and Browsing

Just at the moment, we are not set up for browsing. Most of our ingredients, all grain recipe kits etc. Are made to order to ensure freshness and give customers the chance to order the volume they want, these items need to be ordered in advance on the website. If you are needing advice about products please contact us by email or phone where we be more than happy to help you.

We have a team of customer service advisors who can and will be happy to help you with any query. If we are unable to answer your call you’ll hear a recorded message which will point you to our Contact Us page where you can provide us with details of your query we will get back to you as soon as possible

Brew Days – October 2021

We started our brew days again in October 2021, we plan to continue offering these with at least one per month, subject to any change in government advice or guidance.

Those attending a brew day it is important to follow our guidelines to help protect our team and the other brew day attendees. Anyone on a brew day will need to show proof of a lateral flow test being taken in the 48hrs prior to the day. The test should be taken at home and then recorded on the NHS app. Anyone not having done so will be asked to do one outside or will not be able to attend and no refund will be offered. Anyone receiving a positive result should inform us immediately and stay at home, you will be invited to move your date when sharing the result.

During the day there will points where you are in close contact with the tutor and other attendees due to the space constraints. There will also be points where you might be asked to where PPE (gloves, masks) as you move around the facility and these will be provided.

Just a quick note to say all the best to all the fantastic team at The MaltMiller and see you on the other side.

My last order delivered before the world went mad was for 6 recipes created on the recipe generator, including my pimped up version of Robs Twisted Stout. I’ll let you know how it comes out.

So a busy time in the brewery and its all down to you guys….Thanks

Echoing Martin’s comments above, just wanted to say what an amazing effort you guys have put in, in difficult circumstances. I understand that at some point you were going to have to stop entirely as a result of government advice, availability of supplies, DPD capacity or the available of your staff.

Well done to them all for their weekend working last weekend, but you have almost certainly taken the right decision if you can’t maintain social distancing and other recommended practices.

We look forward to you opening again, in whatever capacity, as soon as it is safe and practical to do so. In the meantime, stay well all you homebrewers out there. If you’ve used all your maltmiller supplies, why not google for ‘Foraged Beer recipes’ and experiment.

A brew day and a beer are a good way of lifting the spirits in these strange times. Thanks to all at the Malt Miller for your hard work making it still possible.

  4. I have always been impressed by your quality of product and excellent, professional and friendly service. It is a credit to your staff that neither has suffered during these difficult times. Brilliant work, guys. Thank you so much for allowing us all to continue with what is for some people, more therapeutic than a hobby.

  5. Matt says:

Thank you for the clear and detailed communication on these matters.

  6. Neil Lang says:

Hi Rob, best wishes from Normandy – under the circumstances, you and team have delivered exeptional customer service, and I think the measures you have introduced are entirely sensible. Hoping you are not going to have to shut down on Thursday, but just wanted to thankyou all for doing your level best!

    1. Robert Neale says:

Hey Neil, thanks for your best wishes, we are all fine and will remain open and sending orders, in the safest way possible throughout. No one wants to lockdown dry!!
