They’re back, our ever popular brew days which we unfortunately had to put on hold due to COVID19 restrictions.
Please read the following very carefully as we do need to operate a little bit different to normal to protect our team and those attending the brew day.
Anyone booking to attend a brew day will be required to take a lateral flow test in the 48hrs prior to the brew day. This then needs to registered on the NHS site and then shown to the instructor on the brew day before being allowed onto site. More information on how to do this can be found on the NHS site here.
Failure to come with a test result logged on the NHS site will mean you will need to do the test in your car outside and wait 30 minutes before the result is known, this could mean you missing the first part of the day. Refusal to take a test will mean you cannot attend the brew day and there are no refunds for none testing.
During the day there will points where you are in close contact with the tutor and other attendees due to the space constraints. There will also be points where you might be asked to where PPE (gloves, masks) as you move around the facility and these will be provided. If any of this is an issue then please let us know in advance and not on the day when confronted by these requests as we cannot adapt the day whilst it is taking place.
Come enjoy the chance to brew here at The Malt Miller where our instructor Mark will guide you through the complete process from start to finish. This is a hands on experience, you will be brewing your own beer on your own Grainfather work station. This is unlike any other brew days available, you won’t be sitting down in a class room, you won’t be part of a large group, its an individual experience of brewing. At the end of the day each brewer will take away roughly 40 pints ( 23 litres ) of wort to ferment at home, fermenter and yeast is included.
A great part of the day is due to being here at The Malt Miller, all brewers will have the opportunity to discover the amazing flavours that can be produced using the 110 different types of malt, over 200 hops and 350 yeast that we carry as stock. This is an unrivalled voyage of discovery and will be of huge benefit to both the new and experienced brewer.
Henry *****: “I can recommend the day to anyone starting out home brewing, to those who, like myself, have had some experience with the Grainfather (5 brews) but want to learn how to really get the best out of it from the experts.
Martin ensured we all got plenty of one to one observation and guidance and the team downstairs were very helpful in making the day run smoothly. As per usual, nothing is too much trouble for these guys and their experience, coupled with the Malt Miller’s selection of ingredients and equipment, is second to none. I can’t recommend them and the day enough!!”
Pizzas will be served for lunch, if you have specific dietary requirements please let us know in advance and we’ll do our best to accommodate them. Please expect to be on premises for approximately 5-6 hours with a 9.30 start and finish expected around 1.30pm.
The address of where to find us is:
Unit A2 Faraday Road,
Most sat nav doesn’t work to get you to our door, so as you drive down Faraday Road you will pass DAF then TD Williams on your right hand side, then as you see DHL on your left you need to turn right onto Faraday Road, head to the end and we’re in the warehouse units on the right. There is usually parking available outside.
If you are early there is a Morrisons around the corner where you can grab breakfast or a coffee, if you’re looking for something to do the night before or after I’d recommend a visit to Hop Kettle Brewery Tap & Brew which is open and not far from us.
Please Note: Due to the requirements to arrange staffing and organising catering, Brew Day bookings are none refundable or transferable.
