This was my first time using Vic Secret hops and to be honest, I wasn’t sure what to expect. I’d never even drank a beer with these hops so it was a bit of a punt. Originally, I started with 16 litres for the mash, but added a further 3 litres to get the grain consistency right. I added a further 17 litres to the sparge and added the hops as instructed. 5 days later, I added the dry hops and waited a further 3 days before bottling. I opened the first bottle last night (a month later) and was very pleasantly surprised at how good the beer is. It is Pale Amber in colour, like a standard pale ale/light bitter: but the aroma and flavour from the hops is something else. I’d recommend it to anybody and will be ordering again. Fabulous.

A simple to brew beer , although I used 20ltrs of water for mash and 15 for sparge and all went well. which even after 2 weeks in the bottle is superb. A fresh , refreshing ale with a great nose and fruity taste , highly recommended .
