Description
Useable for bittering and aroma, its one we’ll be certainly making sure is used for aroma in the main with its big tropical flavours of peach and pineapple, punching out in juicy pales and IPA’s is how we will be using it, with doses in whirlpool and as a dry hop hero in some of this years summer smashers.
Beginning life as part of the Charles Faram Hop Development Programme in 2015, Harlequin was later declared the winner of the ‘Best New Variety’ category at the IBD National Hop Awards. More recently it was awarded the overall gold for the 2019 crop and is set to be fast-tracked for commercial production.
This British hop is one of the most exciting new hops around, and you’ll be seeing plenty more of it with the likes of Oakham and St Austell all releasing beers with it as the star of the show.
St Austell used this great new hop for its wonderful citrus fruit and floral aromas alongside a combination of Charles Faram’s own Fuggle hop for bittering. Maris Otter malt provides a simple but incredibly effective malt base, and gives the beer a vibrant golden hue, whilst having enough robustness and structure to support, but not overpower this wonderful new English hop variety.

We contract and source our hops from the finest merchants and farms around the world, ensuring you get the chance to brew with the same high quality product that professional breweries use.
Using mylar bags which prevent light degradation of the hops, flushing the bags with nitrogen to remove oxygen and cold storage of them until ordered by you, ensures the hops are as fresh as possible.
If you’re new to choosing and using hops we have a handy Hop Substitution chart to help you find the right flavours or alternatives to what your recipe requires.
We also have lots of information in our Brew With Us help section of the website, here you can find lots of free information about brewing, how to use hops, and so much more.
