Czech Republic is home to some world recognised and highly regarded breweries such as Pilsner Urquell and Staropramen. They produce unbelievably good Bohemian Pilsners which they have perfected over the last 180 years! By style, Bohemian Pilsners are crisp, complex and carry a beautiful spicy floral bouquet from the Saaz hop. The style has been on our brew list for a long time, but its something that you really don’t want to rush into without proper R&D. With that in mind, George booked a flight to Prague to sample some of the best and freshest Pilsners in the world!
George returned with his drunk written notes to hand and we were left with a few days to create our very own Pilsner recipe! We had pencilled in a brew slot for this beer months before, all we had to do was crack it first time…. We used the festive and quiet January period to condition the Pilsner in tank for 4 long weeks, hence the name Tank’d!. The outcome is a glorious crisp Pilsner that has a light malt background, a gentle bittering and soft floral bouquet that all sing in harmony. We are very happy with it for our first ever Bohemian Pilsner!
