TRACK X GARAGE – UNKNOWN SEAS – NEW ZEALAND IPA | 7.2%

Our Digital NZ series concludes with us collabing with another hop grower-brewery duo from New Zealand – and what a duo!
Freestyle Hops, from their two farms in Nelson, grow some of the finest hops this planet has to offer.

The double dry-hopping of this DDH IPA is spearheaded by Freestyle’s Mega Terps – a terpene-optimised Phantasm blend which presents itself as juicy pineapple and passionfruit. Riwaka, Motueka and Peacharine bring up the stern with sweet citrus, fleshy apricot and dank herbaceousness.

Freestyle’s cutting edge hop breeding programme is run in partnership with Garage Project, based in Aro Valley, Wellington. Since 2011, Pete and Ian Gillespie & Jos Ruffell have grown the brewery from 50 litre batches to the institution it is today, and we think this beer echoes their innovation, creativity and adventure.

ALLERGENS – MALTED BARLEY, OATS, WHEAT

We’ve been huge fans of Track for many years now, the quality of the beers that they produce mean you can always count on getting to drink something awesome, be that a core range beer, a seasonal special or an experimentation with new brewing ingredients.

It had long been a goal of ours to not only add their beers to Indie Beer Fridge, but to also add some of their recipes to our range of all grain kits, so we’re really pleased to be able to do both and look forward to enjoying the experience of brewing Track beers at home and drinking their freshest releases.

Beers Born From Adventure.

Hazy hop forward Pales, IPAs & DIPAs. Imperial Stouts, Sours & more, fresh from our Manchester Brewery & Taproom.

In 2008 Sam set off on what would become a two year odyssey cycling around the world. The first part of that trip took him from the East to the West Coast of the United States, it was on this leg that Sam started coming across small Taprooms and Breweries producing beer that left a lasting impression.
Beer became more than a way to end the day. It became a way to reflect, connect and share. Local breweries were the lifeblood of communities large & small, places for discussion, inspiration & exploration.

1 bike, 5 continents, 25 countries, 35,000 miles. The start of an idea!

After returning from that trip, Sam threw himself into the beer world, gaining experience in London before heading back to his home in the North West and settling on a 2000 Sq/ft Arch underneath Manchester’s Piccadilly Station. Track was born.

After years of working away in our little arch, we finally found a location to take the next step and realise the dream we’d had since our inception. To have a Production Facility & Taproom all under one roof. In the summer of 2021 we moved up the road to our new, all in one facility on Piccadilly trading Estate, our new home.

A lot has happened since the start, more people have joined, the brewing capacity has increased but the heart of it remains the same. To produce beers to take you on your own journey.
