Comments:

A light golden colour grapefruit IPA with a touch of caramel malt and a sledgehammer of citrus.

Mash in high to retain more of the sweet malt and more body as the US-05 yeast will attenuate really well. Only 1 sachet of yeast is needed as the beer isn’t too high in ABV.

Recipe is based on a brew house efficiency of 75% and using Grainfather.

Mash with 18 to 19 litres of water and sparge with 15 to 16 litres of water to get a pre boil volume of 29 litres. Adjust water volume to suit your brewing setup.

First beer I’ve ever made. Made it with the grainfather and it turned out amazing, still questioning why I didn’t start this malarky sooner!

Was aiming for an Elvis juice style beer, and this was quite close.

As a complete novice, probably made a wee mistake here, and a bit of a mistake there. But the end result is a butt load better than the generic tap beer with a noticeable hit of grapefruit and a smugness of “I made this” ?

Absolutely loved this one. Added 10 ml of the grapefruit extract and it was lovely, next time I’d probably add the lot as I like the extra grapefruit hit. Everyone I shared this beer with loved the taste too. Extremely drinkable, thanks for posting the recipe! Definitely making this one again next summer.

Made this a few times. My wife’s favourite

Great brew everyone who has tasted enjoys it, not as harsh as the original making it more sessionabe, added all the extract 1 hour before bottling.

Just can’t make enough of this stuff…Everyone loves it but be careful, it can sneak up on you. Transferred to secondary after 18 days and then dry hopped for 5 days in a hop sack. Remove hop sack and add essence and stir. wait 30 mins. Kegged and bottled excess. drank after 7 days in the keg and can’t stop now. My new favorite.

Just an amazing summer beer! Highly recommended

I hate grapefruit and I don’t know what possessed me to make this beer – I’m very glad I did. It’s the best beer I’ve ever made!
