Kettles
A great way to start producing your own beer at home is by using a purpose designed and built brew kettle. Many brewers start out using a stainless steel kettle to brew their beer in.
Most kettles can be used on their own with a mesh bag for Brew In A Bag single vessel brewing. Then as your brewing adventure continues you can then add more vessels to upgrade your system to a multi kettle brewing system.
The first decision when choosing a brew kettle is what size batch of beer do you wish to end up with, and how are you going to brew? As an example, to brew 20ltrs of beer in a single vessel you are going to need at least a 35ltr kettle, not a 25ltr vessel as you will need space for more than 20ltrs of liquor and space for grain.
Want to personalise your kettle, we can help. We offer a service of adding extra holes or ports on all kettles when purchased. Just add the relevant sized hole to your order and include details of what you need in the order notes.
Understanding features on kettles:
Stainless Steel – not all steel is the same, there are many different grades. 304 Stainless steel offers corrosion resistance, formability, strength, and easy maintenance for which stainless is known.
Sandwich Base – a layer of aluminium sandwiched between the bottom of a stainless steel pan and a second outer layer of stainless steel to improve the pan’s thermal conductivity and cooking performance. This also helps to prevent any buckling of the base when under heat and provides compatibility with induction heat sources.
