Is BrewZilla hard to use?

No – a BrewZilla is designed to make all-grain brewing simpler. It’s an all-in-one setup that keeps the main brew-day steps in one place (mash + boil), with a digital control panel handling the temperature regulation and timings.

Most brewers find it straightforward once you’ve done one or two runs:

Follow-the-steps brewing: mash, sparge (if you do), then boil – all in the same brew kettle.

Digital temperature control: PID control helps you hold mash temps without constantly babysitting the heat.

Repeatable process: once you’ve got a routine, it becomes very consistent brew to brew.

Recipe planning (optional): many brewers pair BrewZilla with brew recipe software to log recipes, calculate volumes, and keep notes – handy when you’re trying to repeat a great batch.

Can you control BrewZilla remotely?

Yes, Kegland BrewZilla Gen 4 / Gen 4.1 models support remote monitoring and control via the RAPT portal/app (Wi-Fi/Bluetooth depending on model). Beyond just checking temps, the RAPT side is useful because you can build brewing profiles (your mash steps, temperatures and timings) in the portal/app and send them to the BrewZilla control box, so brew day runs to the plan without you constantly hovering over the buttons.

It’s also handy for things like pre-heating, keeping an eye on temperatures/timers, and making small adjustments while you’re doing the other brew day jobs.

What accessories do I need for a BrewZilla all grain brewing system?

As BrewZilla is an all in one system, you can start brewing straight out of the box. But a few add-ons make brew day smoother and results more repeatable – especially once you’ve got a couple of batches under your belt. The most useful upgrades tend to be the ones that help with temperature stability, hop management, and a cleaner whirlpool/transfer.

Can you ferment in a BrewZilla?

A BrewZilla isn’t built to ferment in, it’s the brew-kettle part of the process. Once the wort is made, you transfer it into a dedicated fermentation vessel for the beer fermentation stage.
