True To Style – All Grain Recipe Kits #6 – Ordinary Bitter with Harlequin Hops
These all grain kits are all designed with one thing in mind, making great tasting beer at affordable prices. We’ve built and created this range to offer our first “core” range of all grain kits that represent either great ingredients, methods or beer styles which we adore.
All of them are 23 litre batches and come in at sensible strengths for the mid week beers or sessions at the weekend! Read our full blog post on this range here!
This ordinary bitter reminds of us of long days in the summer, pub gardens and pints of cask beer with delicate floral, hay and peach notes.
This recipe showcases the glorious hop Harlequin, a newer UK variety which has bountiful notes of peaches and berries.
The slightly warmer fermentation temperature also encourages fruit esters to be formed from the yeast. This beer will need a period of time to condition after it has been packaged and we would recommend you use finings in the kettle to enhance a brighter beer.
If you have access to a beer engine then you could serve this cask style for an authentic beer garden experience!
