Description

In areas where water consumption needs to be lowered using Jerry cans or “No Chill Cubes” as they are known is a very popular option. Brew as usual, but instead of cooling at the end of the hop stand / whirlpool fill the jerry can to the brim ( 21.6 litres ) . Then use the DIN60 tamper evident screw cap to securely close the vessel. Wort can then stay in this sealed container to cool or for extended periods if needs be. The white material colour stops any concerns of light struck wort.

This method is not just handy for lowering water consumption. It maybe that you have a time to make a brew but not a fermenter spare or maybe you can make a brew ready to ferment when you get back from holiday.

The containers are manufactured from the highest quality food grade, high-density polyethylene (HDPE) plastic, resulting in a lightweight, robust vessel that can be used repeatedly.

Brewed 23l batch of porter (volume confirmed by weight),so was expecting to use this cube with some left for a starter. Mine seemed to take the whole batch to the brim. I’ll have to make a starter now, but very very happy.

These are fantastic and have changed my brew day, I bought two of them and use to collect the prepared water for brew day (mash and sparge).
I’ve found I rarely bother to cool anymore as it’s more convenient to put into these and then start the fermentation when I’m ready. I learned you gotta leave the lid a bit loose to allow for pressure release when wort is very hot, the handle can also get a little “flexible”. Great versatile items and highly recommend. Found they hold around 22 litres to absolute brim
