Description
Bang Bang Boogie – West Coast IPA (6.0%)
Brace yourself for a flavour hit that dances on the tongue and drops the mic. Bang Bang Boogie is a bold, hop-forward West Coast IPA that fires on all cylinders, bursting with citrus and tropical intensity. Dry-hopped with Citra and Galaxy, this brew brings bright notes of ripe mango, zesty grapefruit, and passionfruit, all layered over a crisp malt backbone and a clean, assertive bitterness. Clear, punchy, and unapologetically West Coast — this is a beer that doesn’t just play, it performs.
This recipe has been developed specifically for those who are trying to brew something in hotter weather or don’t have a way to control temperature, by using WHC High Voltage yeast this strain thrives at hotter temperatures, in fact get a heat wrap or belt on this and you’ll be done a couple of days. We would however say that the ability to cool it afterwards would be advantageous to ensure you get the best from your dry hop and for clearing the beer.
Fresh Wort Kits are an amazing way to produce commercial quality beer at home with basic equipment. No experience of home brewing is required, simply follow the instructional videos and share awesome beer with your friends and family.
Unlike traditional beer kits that are made from malt extract, our Fresh Wort Kits are produced in a professional brew house into bag in a box style packaging. This means all the fresh flavours the team at the brewery magic into their wort are available for our customers to then complete the brewing process at home.
Simply pour the Fresh Wort Kit into a fermenter, top up to 20ltrs and add the yeast. Commercial beer at home with ease.

To brew this West Coast IPA dilute with 5L of water to bring total volume to 20L, this will provide you with a starting OG of 1.060.
When fermentation is complete and if you have a fermenter capable of dumping yeast and hops, remove the yeast once the beer hits the 14c soft crash point and also remove the hops from the FV after the 72 hour contact period before cold crashing. Equally, if you wish to get more from your dry hop addition and have the ability to bubble CO2 through the bottom of your fermenter, this can be done 24 hours after adding your dry hop addition and will push the hops back up into the beer to gain more extraction from them.
Once the beer is clear it’s time to package, this can be either into a keg or bottles. If using bottles don’t forget to add sugar (not included) to the bottles, you can calculate the amount you need using our online calculator, if you are carbonating using sugar you will need to keep the packaged beer somewhere warm again so that the yeast eats the sugar and produces the carbon dioxide.
The next step is condition your beers, this means you need to place them somewhere cold for a period time, a week minimum, 4 weeks would be great if you can wait that long.
Then its time to drink and enjoy your home brewed beer, cheers!!

Not entirely sure if this was meant to be hazy or if it was my technique, but hazy it is. However it’s a great beer, it’s a chunky full on beer, quite bitter and mine came out at 6.2%, so it’s quite strong. Hoppy and juicy, the way I like my beers. Interesting is mixing it 50:50 with Oil For The Neck in the glass makes for a very quaffable pint. Not textbook I know but works for me.
