Description
Complete kit to remove the standard dip tube on any corny style keg and replace with a floating dip tube.
This has many advantages:-
✅ Cleaner Beer Draw
A floating dip tube pulls beer from the top of the liquid level rather than the bottom of the keg, where sediment and hop particles tend to settle. This is especially useful for:
-
Dry-hopped beers like IPAs.
-
Homebrew where yeast/hop sediment hasn’t fully compacted.
-
Naturally carbonated beer (bottle-conditioning style in a keg).
✅ Less Sediment in the Glass
Since the beer is drawn from the clearer top layer, your pours stay cleaner and clearer even if there’s a lot of trub or hop matter at the bottom.
✅ Works Well with Cold Crash
When you cold crash in the keg, yeast and hops settle at the bottom. A floating dip tube stays above the sediment, so you can often serve immediately without pulling cloudy beer.
✅ Extends the Life of Your Beer
By reducing the amount of sediment being pulled into your lines and taps, you cut down on clogging and reduce chances of off-flavors caused by yeast/hop contact during dispensing.
✅ Great for Hazy Beers
If you brew New England IPAs, the floating dip tube helps ensure you get that perfect, stable haze in the glass, rather than sediment sludge from the bottom.
Complete kit, includes
80mm Stainless Steel Dip Tube.
Stainless Steel Float
60cm silicone tubing.
Instructions for Installing a Floating Dip Tube:
-
Remove the standard long dip tube from the keg.
-
Replace it with the supplied 80mm dip tube.
-
Attach the float to one end of the silicone tubing.
-
With the 80mm dip tube fitted, insert the silicone tubing into the keg.
The shorter dip tube leaves enough space inside the keg, making installation quick and easy.
