Upgrade Your Grainfather GF30 Valve Assembly

Enhance your Grainfather GF30 fermenter with our upgrade bundle, featuring a 1.5-inch Tri-Clamp butterfly valveand all the necessary adapters to extend the valve below the fermenter.

The original Grainfather GF30 Dual-Valve Tap is cleverly designed, allowing for efficient yeast and hop dumping, as well as easy beer racking. However, for modern styles that require large dry hop additions or use yeasts that produce high levels of slurry, the stock valve can sometimes become blocked. Yeast and hop matter can also cover the inner spike, making racking a challenge.

The Solution: A Complete Valve Replacement

Our upgrade bundle replaces the entire dual-valve tap assembly, providing a smoother, more reliable solution:

Easy Yeast & Hop Removal – The 1.5-inch Butterfly Valve, paired with a stainless steel elbow, reducer, and Tri-Clamp fittings, allows for effortless yeast and hop removal before racking.

Versatile Connectivity – The Tri-Clamp butterfly tap includes a 1.5-inch Tri-Clamp to 1/2-inch Hose Barb fitting, perfect for use with standard silicone tubing. If desired, you can swap this for other Tri-Clamp fittings, such as the Brewtools Ball Lock Adapter, enabling direct gas line connection to the fermenter cone—ideal for rousing hops during dry hopping.

Optional Sight Glass Addition – Add a Brewtools 1.5-inch Modern Sight Glass to see exactly when you’re in “bright beer” mode, making racking more precise.

A Small Trade-Off for Big Benefits

While this upgrade removes the built-in sample port, you can still monitor fermentation progress using a RAPT Pill, reducing losses while ensuring peak brewing performance.
