About Hallertau Blanc Hops
Hallertau Blanc hops were developed in Germany’s renowned Hallertau region and released as part of a new wave of modern hop breeding. Designed to offer more expressive aroma profiles, it stands apart from traditional noble hops with its fruit-forward character.
Often compared to the aroma of white wine, Hallertau Blanc delivers a unique combination of grape, gooseberry, and subtle tropical notes. This makes it particularly appealing for brewers experimenting with contemporary styles or looking to add a distinctive twist to classic recipes.
While primarily used for late additions and dry hopping, it can also contribute a smooth bitterness when used earlier in the boil.
Heritage & Lineage
Hallertau Blanc is part of a modern German breeding programme and is derived from Cascade, one of the most influential American hop varieties.
This lineage contributes to its distinctive fruit-forward character, bridging traditional European growing with contemporary hop profiles.

Freshness, Packaging & Traceability
At The Malt Miller, we take hop quality seriously. All hops are stored in our temperature-controlled cold store to maintain their freshness, aroma, and brewing performance.
Each pack is nitrogen flushed and sealed in a high-quality, resealable mylar bag. This protects the hops from light, oxygen, and moisture — preserving their essential oils and alpha acids until you’re ready to brew.
Every pack is labelled with a batch code, allowing full traceability back to the supplier. This means you can access detailed information such as alpha acid content and harvest year, giving you complete confidence and consistency in your brewing.
All of our hops are nitrogen flushed to protect them from oxygen, packed in UV protective packaging and cold stored until you order them.
