A project that celebrates the incredible women in beer. We want to put the spotlight on the long history of women in brewing, those championing the modern craft beer movement, and the passionate home-brewers out there (…and those who just love beer!).

Women home-brewers, we want you!

No True Measure is a mouth-watering Oatmeal Stout. Smooth in body, dark in colour, with roasted notes on the finish. No True Measure is a wholehearted nod to the women who have changed the game in brewing, and those who continue to do so.

This is no ordinary beer launch! We’re calling on the passion and ingenuity of the home brew community to make it your own. This recipe kit has been specially formulated to be enjoyed as is, or to be a base for your own style. Tweak the recipe for a stronger ABV, enhance your home brew with lively additions: ground coffee, chocolate, coconut, fruit flavourings, the world is your oyster!

Malt Miller co-owner Jo, who brought the team together for IWD 2022, has teamed up once again with Ruth at Elusive Brewing to whip up a full batch of this fab beer. This years collaboration also features Bristol-based Good Chemistry Brewing. Co-owner Kelly will be getting stuck in on the brewday on the 8th February to be ready in time to enjoy on IWD.

Sarah Young from Lallemand is a highly skilled home brewer and the base recipe for the beer is hers! Lallemand have advised on the yeast strain and also provided the yeast for the big batch.

Sarah Goddard works in the sales team at BarthHaas X, whilst she’s not a home brewer herself she knows hops! BarthHaas X have added their expertise to this recipe, helping to select the hops for the kit and providing the hop for the main brew.

To round off the project why not join us at our beer launch event and bottle share hosted by Kelly at The Good Measure in Bristol. Saturday 11th March at The Good Measure in Bristol (The Saturday after IWD).

Come along and hang out with other beer-drinking women and women working in, or admiring the beer and brewing industry. Come with friends, come on your own, we don’t mind, nor do we bite! Enjoy the exclusive collaboration beer brewed by Elusive Brewery, Good Chemistry Brewing and the Malt Miller.

We want to create a fun space to bring women home-brewers together to share their passion, get feedback on their brew, and learn about working in craft beer! So Home Brewers bring your brews along and let us have a taste and a chat about what makes them so fab and unique! 

This will also be a platform to promote careers for women in beer. After all, you don’t need to brew your own beer to be passionate about it and you don’t need to work directly in brewing to be in the industry. The industry is as broad as it is awesome and we want to shout about it.

This recipe allows you the opportunity to show your flare as a brewer. We want to see what else can be added to elevate this beer. Some amazing speciality coffee perhaps or cacao nibs… Tonka maybe… Chilli??
