About Olicana Hops
Olicana hops were developed by Charles Faram & Co Ltd as part of a new wave of UK hop breeding focused on delivering modern, fruit-forward flavour profiles.
Designed to compete with popular New World varieties, Olicana offers bold tropical fruit character alongside a balanced bitterness. Its expressive aroma makes it particularly well suited to contemporary beer styles such as IPAs and pale ales.
Olicana performs well throughout the brewing process but truly shines in late additions and dry hopping, where its full tropical intensity can be realised.
Heritage & Lineage
Olicana is part of the Charles Faram breeding programme and is closely related to modern UK varieties such as Jester® and Möst.

Freshness, Packaging & Traceability
At The Malt Miller, we take hop quality seriously. All hops are stored in our temperature-controlled cold store to maintain their freshness, aroma, and brewing performance.
Each pack is nitrogen flushed and sealed in a high-quality, resealable mylar bag. This protects the hops from light, oxygen, and moisture — preserving their essential oils and alpha acids until you’re ready to brew.
Every pack is labelled with a batch code, allowing full traceability back to the supplier. This means you can access detailed information such as alpha acid content and harvest year, giving you complete confidence and consistency in your brewing.
We contract and purchase our hops from the worlds leading suppliers, giving you access to professional quality hops to make the best beer possible.
All of our hops are nitrogen flushed to protect them from oxygen, packed in UV protective packaging and cold stored until you order them.
To get the most of your hops and learn more be sure to check out our Brew With Us section in our Help Centre. We also provide regular content on YouTube of brewing techniques, recipes and product information that is there to help you brew.
