Oxebar 20ltr Keg
This great value re-usable plastic keg is the best way to store your home brew, great alternative to traditional 19L corny kegs. The 20 litre size is convenient, light weight and perfect for sharing beverages with friends at home.
Not only will it protect your beer from damaging light (amber tinting) it will also keep your beverages fresher for up to 3 times as long due to the Mono Barrier PET Polymer Matrix.
It also comes with a floating dip tube with cage filter. Is easy to undo and stack on top of each-other upside down with disconnects attached.
The 20L Oxebar Amber PET Kegs come with a Green Pressure Relief valve rated to 65psi.
What is Oxebar Mono
Oxebar Mono is a PET polymer blend that utilises several polymers blended together to significantly improve gas barrier properties. When compared with standard PET plastic Oxebar Mono is able to reduce oxygen ingress and CO2 loss so your precious beverage is preserved and shelf life extended by x3.
We recommend this product for beer stored in keg up to 6 months.
Dimensions:
640mm High
235mm Diameter
NOTE: Please check the dimensions will fit in your kegerator as they are a different size to Corny Kegs.
Other uses:
– Overflow Homebrew Keg
– Cleaning Keg for Commercial Keg Buyers
– In a pinch it could be used as a Pressure Fermenter Tank, although we would highly recommend going for a KB03625 30L FermZilla Pressure Brewing Kit for adequate single batch sizing as well as being able to get your hand inside to clean properly.
20L Brimful, ideally 19.5L fill for Kegging purposes.
If you are going to use it as a fermenter, we would recommend between 15L and 18L.
When fermenting you will need a spunding valve. We would recommend the BlowTie.
KL09706 BlowTie Spunding Valve Kit OR KB03529 Integrated Gauge BlowTie Kit (0-15psi)
Remember, a PRV is a not a spunding valve.
During normal everyday use Do not Exceed 4 Bar / 58psi or 45°C
Periodic Hydrotesting Requirement
All pressure vessels should be hydrotested periodically. This is a very simple process and it’s nothing to be feared.
We recommend that this container be pressure tested every 2 years up to 6 bar.
The instructions for this are:
1. Remove RED prv and fit GREY prv (you can borrow one of these from a 19L keg).
2. Fill keg to the absolute brim with water. DO NOT forget this step.
3. Use bike pump, CO2 regulator, air compressor or any other pressure source to pressurize the keg to 6 bar.
4. Hold the keg at 6 bar for 1 minute
5. Release the pressure and immediately remove GREY prv and swap back to RED prv.
Note: This test should be done with the keg and water in the keg at room temperature 15-30C
