Description

This recipe kit has everything you’ll need to make up 21L of sugar wash at around 15% ABV, after fermentation. After fermentation is completed you’ll be able to take this wash and process it through a still to produce a neutral spirit. If you are using a Reflux Still such as the T500 Reflux Column or the Air Still Pro then you’ll be likely to produce a finished spirit around 90% ABV. This finished product could then go on to be made into a Vodka, Gin or used as the base for mixing into any of the Spirt Essences that are available.

• 7KG Brewing Sugar (Dextrose)
• 1 Pack of Turbo Yeast
• 1 Pack of Turbo Carbon
• 1 pack or Turbo Clear

Method

Place around 5L of hot water into your sanitised and clean fermentation bucket, add the sugar in stages and stir to dissolve. Top up with more water as needed to ensure the sugar is fully dissolved. Once all the sugar is dissolved into the water, top up with cold water to the 21L mark, you can go a little higher if needed, to around 23L. Check the temperature is below the threshold for the yeast. If not then place the lid on and allow for the wash to cool.

Once you are in the correct temperature range then you can move on to adding the Turbo Carbon to aid in the removal of unwanted flavours and help with clearing the wash. Now you can add the pack of Turbo yeast, which is a blend of yeast and nutrients. Seal your Fermenter and allow it to stand at ambient temperature for 7-10 days, until fermentation has finished.

After this time has passed, check with a hydrometer that the fermentation is finished and once it has you can then add the 2 part clearing agent. Follow the instructions the packet as this has to be added in two parts, 24 hours apart.

Your wash is now complete and you can move onto the next steps of distilling!
