These all grain kits are all designed with one thing in mind, making great tasting beer at affordable prices. We’ve built and created this range to offer our first “core” range of all grain kits that represent either great ingredients, methods or beer styles which we adore.

Showcasing UK grown Cascade from Brook House Hops, this beer has a foot in the US and one in the UK. Expect some wonderful pithy orange citrus notes from the hops and a background malt presence of note. The malt character is driven by the use of Warminster Floor Malted Maris Otter and Simpsons Crystal Malt. Just bitter enough to clean up your palate and encourage you to take another sip!

30g Cascade – UK – 60min (20 IBU)
20g Cascade – UK – 5min (6 IBU)
Whirlpool / hop stand:
20g Cascade – UK – 0min 80c – 15min

Fermentation temperature/steps: 19c – 7-10 days
Secondary additions:
30g Cascade – UK – Dry Hop at end of fermentation, 3 days contact time
Add kettle finings such as Protofloc at 15mins left on the boil

Absolutely lovely. Good value kit, clear instructions. The finished beer is delicious – a lightly malty, mildly hoppy/floral and nicely bitter English pale ale. Although the description (and dry hopping) suggests it might have a stronger hop-forward US style, it’s definitely not as strong a flavour as something like Proper Job. But it is very tasty in its own right and scarily sessionable. For the bit of extra effort doing all-grain, this is much better than any extract kit I’ve tried to get for a hoppy EPA. If you keg, I’d recommend keeping it at a fairly low serving psi and not chilling too low. Then froth it up a bit with your serving tap and you could almost imagine you’re drinking something from a pub cask! Usual efficient delivery and great service from MM.
