Beer Overview

A Million Ripples is a brand-new 6.5% IPA from Verdant Brewing Co, created through a unique collaboration between the brewery’s sales team and head brewer James Heffron. Given the opportunity to design their dream Verdant beer from scratch, the team set out to create something that stayed true to the brewery’s signature style while adding a slightly crisper edge and a more pronounced bitterness.

The result is a beautifully balanced hazy IPA bursting with citrus, tropical fruit and New Zealand hop character. Pouring a glowing pale gold with a fluffy, pillowy body, A Million Ripples delivers wave after wave of lime zest, gooseberry and sticky tropical fruit before finishing cleaner and drier than many of Verdant’s classic releases.

This is Verdant through a slightly different lens—still soft, saturated and juicy, but with an extra snap of bitterness that keeps you reaching for another sip.

Flavour Profile

Taste: Lime zest, gooseberry, pineapple, passionfruit and peach sweets with layers of citrus sherbet.
Mouthfeel: Soft, fluffy and pillowy with a smooth hazy texture.
Finish: Clean, crisp and gently bitter with lingering citrus and herbal notes.

Aroma

Bright aromas of fresh lime, tropical fruit and gooseberry leap from the glass, backed by hints of fresh-cut herbs, citrus zest and ripe stone fruit.

Brewing Process & Uniqueness

A Million Ripples was conceived and brewed by Verdant’s own sales team, who worked closely with Head Brewer James Heffron to design a beer that reflected everything they love about modern IPA.

The recipe combines a soft malt base of Heidelberg malt, wheat malt and flaked wheat, creating Verdant’s trademark pillowy mouthfeel and hazy appearance. The hop bill spans three of the world’s most exciting hop-growing regions, featuring Motueka and NZH-101 from New Zealand, El Dorado from the USA, and Vic Secret alongside Nectaron, delivering remarkable depth and complexity.

Motueka and NZH-101 provide vibrant lime, citrus sherbet and herbal freshness, while El Dorado, Nectaron and Vic Secret layer in ripe pineapple, peach sweets and passionfruit. A carefully judged bitterness and slightly drier finish help distinguish this beer from Verdant’s softer offerings, creating a uniquely satisfying drinking experience.

Serve at: 6–8°C in a tulip or IPA glass.

In 2014, Verdant started to make beers that we love. Nothing’s changed. It’s still about taste, quality, and all ’round deliciousness. Think juicy, hoppy, unfiltered, hazy beers that are always vegan! That’s us. We also love to explore from time to time, brewing lagers, stouts, cask ales… We’re independent, and always will be — that way we can continue to push boundaries and make beer we love, and hopefully, you will love them too.

Verdant began life back in Autumn 2014 when homebrewers Adam and James teamed up with Rich to craft US-inspired beers that weren’t available locally. Since then the team has continued to grow alongside the demand for our beer! We’re now a team of 30 people, all driven by the same passion. Our ethos revolves around brewing the flavour-packed beers we love to drink, and ensuring that beer lovers have access to delicious, quality-driven releases week after week. We are also proud to welcome and embrace all the diversity that this industry has to offer, anyone is welcome here at Verdant. We strive to ensure a workplace that is centred on inclusion and diversity.

Hoppy, juicy, hazy, unfiltered, vegan-friendly beers!

When Verdant began to bloom, back in 2014, we decided that our focus would be hop-forward beers inspired by the New England craft beer scene. Over the past few years, we’ve become synonymous with hop-forward beer styles including Pale Ale, IPA & DIPA. We’ve placed an emphasis on balance and drinkability while taking inspiration from the beers of both the East and West Coasts of the United States. We also love exploring different styles and are regularly brewing Lagers, as well as luscious stouts over the winter period.
