West Berkshire – Dr Hexter’s Healer

Founded in 1995 by Dave and Helen Maggs, West Berkshire has grown significantly over the years. They are now on their fourth and largest expansion. Their latest brewery comes from CFT, of Parma, Italy, and includes a 3-vessel 60 hectolitre brew house comprising a mash tun, lauter tun and copper whirlpool. They also have an automatic hop-dosing unit that adds hops at pre-planned stages and a hop back that can be packed with hops to add additional flavour and aroma. Their modern brewery is open to the public and features a shop, tap room and restaurant which features food cooked or designed to pair with their beers.

Every effort is made to match the brewery recipe precisely, but at times it maybe necessary to change some of the listed ingredients on the recipe to alternatives due to seasonality or availability, but in all cases we do our best replace with something that won’t impact on the overall taste and flavour of the beer.

NOTE: This recipe uses 10g of Fuggles in place of Sovereign
