  1. David Sawford

This is an authentic-tasting recipe that doesn’t disappoint. I accidentally used too much liquor and ended up with a slightly weaker result than the 7% it was supposed to be, but it still had a full bodied flavour and decent hoppiness. I’d definitely brew this one again.

First time I have tried this and wow. Such a good tasting beer, great depth of flavour. Really authentic Leffe clone. Highly highly recommend.

  3. Benjamin Williams (verified owner)

Gorgeous. A really nice beer and this T58 yeast is an absolute superstar. I did a side by side with actual Leffe and there was very little difference, I actually found the home brewed version to be a little more drinkable. When it’s first kegged it has quite a strong ‘Belgian’ character but it mellows out as it clears up, if you can resist drinking it. I can’t wait to do this one again and think it’ll be a good candidate for tweaking and modifications.

  4. Darren Ansell (verified owner)

Mine came out at 7% bang on. I am really impressed with this one, probably the most authentic clone I have brewed. It is very close to Leffe, the Belgium Candi Sugar taste is there. Will make this again. I doubt I will be able to see how it tastes once it has matured as I can’t stop trying it! Doubt it will last long.

Drinking my second brew now in Feb 2021 and this one is just as great too. I’ve done two reviews of this kit now now, so I’ll shut up!

  6. paul15

My friends and I have done over 30 brews of this. It is our go to beer. It is always excellent. I’m about to order a load more. We all think it is better than Leffe, especially me as I don’t like Leffe but I love this.

  7. Nigel Macey (verified owner)

This is a deceptively strong beer, and highly recommended,a superb beer kit.

  8. Andrew Daniels (verified owner)

I’ll keep this simple: This is quite possibly the best beer I’ve ever made. It was a great brew day and the results are amazing. If you enjoy Leffe, you should brew this… then do it justice by drinking out of a proper Leffe glass!

  9. Andrew Clark (verified owner)

Agree with the other reviews, much more rounded than Leffe not as overpowering. Best Beer I have brewed thus far, Its bang on 7% , my mistake was bottling in 1ltr bottles I will be having a very “Merry” xmas with this beer 😀

  10. r.r.duncan (verified owner)

Excellent, and easy. Exactly like the real thing. I bottled it in 750ml bottles and used champagne corks and cages. Really impressed.

  11. Mark Brazenor

I couldn’t believe how close it tasted to the real thing if not better. I’ll definitely be brewing this again

  12. Jan Rowley (verified owner)

I was a bit disappointed by this at first (I thought it was too bitter and had an odd aftertaste) but as usual I was being far too impatient!

After a few weeks in the keg it is absolutely stunning! Without doubt the best beer I’ve made. Will definitely do it again, maybe with some dried orange peel/coriander or a different ‘Belgian’ yeast to mix it up a bit.

  13. steve howard (verified owner)

Despite a boil over and delay cooling the wort, this beer has turned out absolutely fabulous. Yeast was brilliant fermenting for about 9 days, cold crashed 2 days and conditioned for around 4 weeks. I comparer my brew with original leffe and smell, taste and body was almost indistinguishable. Original leffe obviously a bit clearer and not so lively on the pour. Will do again, possibly more a spring/summer brew but happy to drink at any time. Give it a go.

    • Robert Neale

Hey Steve. Regarding the boil over, if you add your boil hops just before the wort boils. It really helps in stopping this messy business!

  14. Grant Reilly

Hi folks. How are you guys carbonating this recipe? Im dying to try this but not sure about how to finish it. Please help ta.

    • Robert Neale

Hey Grant. Basically any way you choose or have the ability to do. Personally, I think this beer is really nice bottled conditioned. 1/2 teaspoon of table sugar per 500ml bottle. Or keg and force carbonate, needs to be up there on the carbonation, think what Leffe is like out of the bottle.

  15. Grant Reilly

Thanks Robert. Definitely away to try this now. Thanks for your help.

  16. Martin Jagla (verified owner)

Just FANTASTIC. The head is unreal and so is the taste – definitely the best beer I ever brewed. It tastes 100% Leffe Blonde like.

Brewed this beer a few months ago, OG was a bit disappointing, mashing wasn’t as efficient as normal, beer ended up as a 5.5% ABV. After 4 weeks in keg I couldn’t believe how good it tasted. I put it up against a purchased bottle, and the only thing it lacked was a little sharpness due to the carbonation of the bottle beer. I store the beer in cornies so as Rob suggests increased the CO2 into the keg and dropped the temperature a little to get the beer to absorb more CO2. The result, great copy all the way to the last drop!
