A balanced Best Bitter recipe designed for home brewing, combining classic British malt character with a gentle American hop influence. Built on a foundation of Maris Otter, supported by Munich and a touch of dark crystal malt, this home brew delivers rich biscuit, light toffee and subtle caramel notes with a smooth, rounded mouthfeel.
Willamette hops are used throughout the boil, bringing soft earthy, floral and slightly spicy character with a hint of dark fruit, complementing the malt rather than dominating it. At around 4.6% ABV, this is a highly drinkable, pub-style bitter that’s all about balance and sessionability. Fermented with WHC Fountainbridge yeast, the profile stays clean with a light ester character, tying everything together into a proper pint-style home brew.
