What Does 3 India Pale Ale Taste Like?

3 India Pale Ale produces an amber beer with balanced malt and hop aromas, a refreshing and rounded flavour, and a firm bitterness that carries through into the finish.

Its robust base character makes it an ideal starting point for a wide range of hop-forward beers, from balanced traditional IPAs to bold and aromatic modern American styles.

Two Ways to Brew

Brew a Simple IPA

Combine the can with 1kg of dextrose and use the 5g yeast sachet supplied under the lid.

This produces approximately 20 litres, or 35 pints, of refreshing, well-rounded IPA at around 4.6% ABV.

Build a Recipe Range Beer

Use 3 India Pale Ale as the base and combine it with your chosen Mangrove Jack’s Hop Blend, Brew Enhancer and Craft Series Yeast.

Changing these three ingredients allows the same malt extract base to create a completely different finished beer.

Mangrove Jack’s Recommended Recipe: American IPA

For a bold, aromatic and hop-forward American IPA, Mangrove Jack’s recommends:

• Hop Blend: H1 Citrus Hop Sachet
• Enhancer: E4 Light-Hopped Enhancer
• Yeast: M66 Hophead Ale Yeast
• Makes: 18 litres
• Approximate ABV: 5.5%

The H1 Citrus Hop Blend adds bright citrus-led aroma and flavour, while the E4 Light-Hopped Enhancer builds body and reinforces the hop character. M66 Hophead Ale Yeast is selected to support expressive hop aromas and produce a balanced, modern IPA.
