Wyeast 2124 Bohemian Lager. BB: 31/07/2024

This Carlsberg type yeast is the most widely used lager strain in the world. This strain produces a distinct malty profile with some ester character and a crisp finish. A versatile strain, that is great to use with lagers or Pilsners for fermentations in the 45-55°F (8-12°C) range. It may also be used for Common beer production with fermentations at 65-68°F (18-20°C).

This all grain kit has been shared with us by the amazing Richard Williams following his victory at the National Homebrew Competition in Feb 2023. Richard came  “Best in Show” with this German Helles Exportbier and you can now also brew this recipe at home.

Richard is a much loved and respected member of the home brewing community in the UK. He runs a great YouTube Channel called “Dudes Brews” and is part of the team behind “The Hop Addition” Podcast.

This is a slightly more technical brew however it features a standard infusion mash for a simple brew day, you will need to ensure you pitch enough healthy yeast into the wort. You can learn all about growing yeast starters here
