Description

Jaipur X & A Whole Lot of Faith – Thornbridge Brewery x Northern Monk

Bold. Juicy. Celebratory.

Beer Overview

Jaipur X & A Whole Lot of Faith is a landmark collaboration between Thornbridge Brewery and Northern Monk, bringing together two of the UK’s most iconic hop-forward beers in one bold celebratory IPA.

Originally brewed in 2024, this collaboration returns as part of Thornbridge’s twentieth anniversary celebrations, reuniting the breweries behind Jaipur and Faith to create a beer worthy of the occasion. Combining elements from both flagship recipes, the result is a modern 8.4% IPA packed with saturated hop character, soft body and classic bitterness.

Juicy tropical fruit, bright citrus and resinous pine all collide in a beer that feels both contemporary and timeless—a seamless fusion of two defining UK craft brewing styles.

Flavour Profile

Taste: Mango, pineapple and citrus layered with pine resin and soft stone fruit sweetness.
Mouthfeel: Full-bodied, smooth and juicy.
Finish: Lingering bitterness balanced by ripe tropical fruit and light sweetness.

Aroma

Explosive aromas of tropical fruit, citrus zest and pine rise from the glass, backed by subtle floral and resinous hop notes.

Brewing Process & Uniqueness

This collaboration blends the DNA of two landmark beers: Thornbridge Jaipur, one of the UK’s most influential IPAs, and Northern Monk Faith, a modern hazy favourite.

The recipe combines ingredients and techniques from both breweries to create a beer that bridges classic and contemporary IPA styles. Tropical fruit intensity and juicy mouthfeel meet the firm bitterness and structure that made Jaipur legendary.

The result is a celebratory IPA that showcases two decades of evolution in British hop-forward brewing.

The Thornbridge story began back in 2005 when the founders Jim Harrison and Simon Webster recruited two young brewers to brew on a second hand 10-barrel kit in the grounds of Thornbridge Hall

The brewery was originally based in the outbuildings of Thornbridge Hall, surrounded by beautiful gardens within the 100-acre estate. The buildings were renovated in 2004 in preparation for the brewery installation. Jim Harrison and Simon Webster recruited two young brewers, keen to kick-start their brewing career. Their first brew was Lord Marples, a 4% classic bitter, which went on to become a core Thornbridge beer

Next, they were tasked with brewing something a little different, an IPA which packed a punch in terms of both flavour and ABV. In mid-2005 Jaipur was born. A 5.9% IPA packed with American hops and like nothing else in the beer industry at that time. Following an array of awards and national recognition, Jaipur catapulted Thornbridge into the spotlight, demand outstripped supply and the need for a new Brewery became clear.

In 2009 a brand new state of the art brewery was built at Riverside, Bakewell to meet with demand and allow Thornbridge to develop their range of beers. Brewing still takes place today on the original kit which has been moved to beside the Taproom at Riverside, which allows us to experiment with new brews, create bespoke Hall brews, collaborations and assist the main brewery in Bakewell.
