As part of Verdant Brewing Co 10th Birthday celebration we’ve managed to get hold of another Birthday Special Beer, Baby Sharks, but its not on its own, its paired up with its big brother and even bigger brothers Whale Sharks and The Don.
What to expect? An A-Team of Citra and Galaxy, with Verdant super fruity house yeast strain to make a classic New England Pale Ale – just a hint of bitterness, and a balance of sharper citrus fruits to stop the tropical aroma being too sweet. Making a smaller version of their popular IPA Even Sharks Need Water simply made a lot of sense, especially after releasing the Double IPA version (Whale Sharks) in 2022.
ESNW was one of Verdants very first releases as a New England Style beer, which we fondly remember first pouring at IMBC in Manchester, all the way back in 2016. Back then, it was pouring alongside our core beers of Headband, Bloom & Pulp, as well as UTO (A Black IPA made with our friends over at Howling Hops). It even came in a 330ml can for a little while. Look how far this beer has come over the years!

A triple dry hopped no dextrose Even Sharks Need Water DIPA. Simples.

The Don
DIPA 10% ABV
Meet THE DON, a brand new 10% Triple IPA inspired by the mighty, mysterious Megalodon. This gigantic prehistoric shark is estimated to have had a bite force of up to 182,000 newtons, making it the strongest bite of any known animal.
So, with such a ferocious bite, what can you expect from this brew? Well, this is a thick, creamy, hoppy, and intense Triple IPA, here to dominate the deep. With a 30 g/l dry-hop rate, this is a beer we can only release once a year! We’ve gulped down the world’s supply of Galaxy and Citra hops like an insatiable black hole and then pummelled them violently to create this crazy big relative of our most famous family of beers.
THE DON. This is it. This is it turned up to 11. This is peak Citra and Galaxy. Huge in every way. Silly.

In 2014, Verdant started to make beers that we love. Nothing’s changed. It’s still about taste, quality, and all ’round deliciousness. Think juicy, hoppy, unfiltered, hazy beers that are always vegan! That’s us. We also love to explore from time to time, brewing lagers, stouts, cask ales… We’re independent, and always will be — that way we can continue to push boundaries and make beer we love, and hopefully, you will love them too.
Verdant began life back in Autumn 2014 when homebrewers Adam and James teamed up with Rich to craft US-inspired beers that weren’t available locally. Since then the team has continued to grow alongside the demand for our beer! We’re now a team of 30 people, all driven by the same passion. Our ethos revolves around brewing the flavour-packed beers we love to drink, and ensuring that beer lovers have access to delicious, quality-driven releases week after week. We are also proud to welcome and embrace all the diversity that this industry has to offer, anyone is welcome here at Verdant. We strive to ensure a workplace that is centred on inclusion and diversity.

When Verdant began to bloom, back in 2014, we decided that our focus would be hop-forward beers inspired by the New England craft beer scene. Over the past few years, we’ve become synonymous with hop-forward beer styles including Pale Ale, IPA & DIPA. We’ve placed an emphasis on balance and drinkability while taking inspiration from the beers of both the East and West Coasts of the United States. We also love exploring different styles and are regularly brewing Lagers, as well as luscious stouts over the winter period.
All beer from Indie Beer Fridge is individually selected from the finest breweries, we work closely with the breweries to bring you beer and brewing knowledge, be sure to check out our YouTube channel for exclusive content about many of the breweries we select.
All beer is cold stored to ensure you get the best quality beer delivered to you and so you get to enjoy the beer as the brewer intended.
