The Malt Miller Brew Day in a box recipe kits have been developed to make brewing with the very best ingredients as easy as possible. Each kit contains all the ingredients required, crushed malt, hops, style specific yeast and priming sugar. Plus, kettle finings, yeast nutrient and where applicable vegan finings. Full instructions for brewing beer from grain as well as a recipe specific brew sheet.
A Modern Hoppy Lager Showcasing Eclipse
Ecliptic is a modern hoppy lager recipe designed for home brewing, built around the vibrant citrus character of Eclipse hops. A base of Crisp Clear Choice Extra Pale malt delivers a clean flavour profile and exceptional clarity, while small additions of Vienna and Dextrin Malt provide subtle malt depth, body and lasting head retention.
Eclipse is layered throughout the recipe, from the boil through to the whirlpool and dry hop, creating bright notes of mandarin, orange zest and sweet citrus without overwhelming the crisp lager character. Fermented with WHC Blitz Lager yeast, the result is a refreshing, hop-forward lager with brilliant clarity, clean fermentation character and outstanding drinkability.

THE BOIL

Hop / Kettle Additions and Timing
Eclipse T90 Hop Pellets 5g @ 60 mins
Eclipse T90 Hop Pellets 15g @ 10 mins
ProMix – Add 1 sachet at 5 minutes before the end of the boil
Whirlpool
Chill to 80°C, add hops and whirlpool for 20 minutes
Eclipse T90 Hop Pellets 40g @ 80°C
Fermentation
Yeast: WHC Blitz Lager x 1 11g Packet
Ferment at 17°C for 4 days.
Raise temperature to 20°C and hold for a further 3 days.
Once fermentation is complete, add the dry hop charge and hold for 48 hours:
Eclipse T90 Hop Pellets 60g
Add BrauSol and cold crash to 4°C for up to 10 days before packaging.

This balanced, slightly sulphate-forward profile enhances crispness, supports hop expression and helps showcase the bright mandarin and citrus character of Eclipse while maintaining a clean, refreshing lager finish.
Packaging & Carbonation
Carbonate to approximately 2.5 vols CO₂ via forced carbonation if kegging, or use the included dextrose for bottle conditioning. Check out our priming sugar calculator for exact amounts to add.
