Kveik yeast strains are a Norwegian farmhouse style of yeast, but don’t let that confuse you with a saison. These yeasts can perform all the jobs of regular yeast and brew clean tasting beers or increase fruit esters depending on style all depending on the temperature and pitching rate used. They are known for completing fermentation in a much faster time when fermented at higher temperatures like 30-35c and are less prone to temperature fluctuations so are great for using during summer without heat control.
If you are choosing a fresh yeast we would always recommend using next delivery and including an ice pack to ensure that the yeast arrives with you in the best possible condition.

Escarpment Årset Kveik Blend BB: 13/03/2021
£13.49This kveik yeast was sourced from Jakob Årset, on the farm Årset in Eidsdal, Norway. The overall flavour profile is similar to the Hornindal Kveik Blend, but this blend exhibits a broad temperature range (we have heard of sub-15ºC) and tolerates acidic wort quite well.

£13.49This kveik yeast blend from Stordal was sourced from Jens Aage Øvrebust. This blend displays prominent fruity esters, leaning toward tropical guava and mango, lending well to traditional as well as modern aromatic styles like NEIPA. Note that this blend does accentuate hop bitterness, so we recommend adjusting wort production to only use hops in the whirlpool and dry hop.
